Amongst the trees, Stowe, VT

secluded mountain home

Within an expansive property in northern Vermont sits a unique 1970s dark wood-clad home, its undulating roofline echoing the adjacent high ridgelines. The distinctive character and form of the home served as a catalyst for the design of a new guest house and garage. Unlike the main house, which is oriented directly along the arrival axis, the new structures are tucked within the trees, creating a layered sequence of spatial experiences across the broader site.

Both the guest house and garage draw from the salient characteristics of the original home, resulting in separate structures whose architectural DNA is clearly traceable to the main residence.
