The Irish word drumlin is used by geologists to mean “little ridge” or mound formed through glacial movement. Our site is home to this undulation that ultimately recedes into a gentle hill. At this intersection that we placed a new summer residence in Little Sippewissett. The strategic siting allows for dramatic views down the hill as well as changing landscape based on one’s orientation. We designed a pool plinth that emerges from the grade, reminiscent of an abstracted drumlin.
