Is the garage a thing of the past?

The ubiquitous garage has gone from lowly detached second class citizen, to front and center of today’s car driving society. Bigger, attached, and occasionally well appointed, the garage has become almost as import as some indoor spaces. But is this 60-year trend about to peak? 

With a new generation of people using Uber, public transportation and not wanting to incur debt, will cars still be in the mix?  Factor in the advent of self-driving automobiles, and one wonders if the garage may become a thing of the past?
